About AJDS

The Association of Jewish Day schools was founded in 1969 as an independent association of schools. It is today comprised of 9 corporations operating on 12 campuses on the island of Montreal. It is governed by an elected Board of Directors made up of parents of students enrolled in our member schools.

The Association of Child Care Centers of the Jewish Community (CPE) is an associate member of AJDS and represents 17 daycares and approximately 1500 places.

All of our member schools are licensed according to the norms of the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sports, and employ only qualified and certified teachers to teach core curriculum. Students follow a secular program of study supplemented by a diverse and enriched program of Jewish studies. Linguistic proficiency in both English and French is a fundamental tenet of the schools of AJDS.

Each of our schools has its own educational project as well as its own Board of Directors. They are led according to the needs of the parents in their community and reflect the diversity of our community.
